Sometime during the night Monsieur passed away. It was expected as he had been sick for a couple of weeks, with a bulging side (abdomen) and swimming and floating on his side.

Monsieur was probably 15 years old, our guess (between 10-15) and five years ago survived a harrowing trip at night in the cold of winter from eastern Kentucky to our new home in North Augusta SC.

He had quite a personality, something most smaller fish lack. He could pout, inquire (in his own way of course, we knew when he was quizzical) and in later years didn’t want company (he killed an angel fish we brought in to “keep him company”). We built the living room cabinets to house his 55 gallon tank. He was part of the family. He will be missed.
